Television audience of almost 700 millions. Viewers will accumulate 3’s launch of the World Ski Cup in Bansko on 27, 28 February and 1st of March. The interest is huge, which is normal for an event of this magnitude” said President of the Bulgarian Ski Federation and head of the organizing committee of the World Cup Tseko Minev at a press conference in “Grand Hotel Sofia”. 52 skiers from 20 countries will participate in the competitions. Among them there are seven Olympic champions.

These are Austrians Fenninger and Andrea Fischbacher, American Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso, Tina Maze (Slvn), Viktoria Rebensburg (GER) and Dominique Gisin (Swiss). 4 of them (Feninger, Fischbacher Rebensburg and Gisin) participated in the official video of Bansko World Cup. 7 are the world champions who arrive. Starting with 4 Austrian – Anna Fenninger, Nicole Hosp, Elisabeth Görgl and Michaela Kirchgasser and continue with Lindsey Vonn, Tina Maze and Tessa Worley (FR). If in Bansko came another famous Austrian – Kathrin Zettel, world champions will become 8. Four of the stars are winners of the Big Crystal Globe – Nicole Hosp (2007) Lindsey Vonn (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012), Tina Maze (2013) and Anna Fenninger (2014).

“The additional Super G, which we took from Bad Kleinkirchheim, certainly is relevant for in the fight of the World Cup. Perhaps outcome will come exactly this weekend in Bansko, “said Vice President of the Bulgarian Ski Federation Georgi Bobev.
In the organization of the starts are involved 1,000 people. Among them are boys and 101 Alpine Battalion of Smolyan, which traditionally were already deployed on the race track, whose preparation took a total of 30 days. Beyond this other 80 volunteers from 5 countries support the event. Tseko Minev proposed to include representatives of non-governmental “Green” organizations also.

“We have given a request of the World Cup in Bansko, but the major purpose – World Cup, the country must take the right decisions, so we can meet the application requirements,” said Tseko Minev. According to the requirements of FIS during the world men and women can make in only 5% of total track, i.e – Bansko need infrastructure developments.
“The government should decide on this question, which is on the agenda – namely the construction of a second gondola lift in Bansko,” replied Krasen Kralev.

The official opening of the World Cup will be on February 27 (Friday) at the central square “Nikola Vaptsarov” in Bansko at 18 o’clock. Then will be the award ceremony of the first winners of the first Super G and drawing lots for the second.
