Modernization of the oldest chair lift in Bansko “Shiligarnika – Todorka Peak” begins. The lift is put into exploitation back in 1984, its capacity is 800 people per hour and has a very slow speed. Skiers and snowboarders long ago pointed out that is necessary the modernization and upgrading of the oldest ski lifts in Bansko ski zone, so Starting in the coming days activities will be good news for all who love winter sports in Bulgaria.
New modern cableway “Shiligarnika – Todorka Peak” will have a capacity of 2000 people per hour, the route will be passed for under 10 minutes, with enhanced safety and increased speed. The lift serves one of the most beautiful and long runs in the ski area – Balkaniada, where in 1984 was held youth winter Universiade.
The modernization will contribute to the comfort of tourists and skiers and to reduce queues at some of the neuralgic nodes of the ski area. Ski season 2014-2015 marked significant growth in visits compared to last year’s period. The pressure on the capacity of the ski area is already significant. Despite the delay in the procedures of building a second gondola, long-awaited modernization of the line “Shiligarnika – Todorka Peak ” is undeniably a step in the right direction.
It is important to note that there is no room for concern about preservation of nature in national park Pirin, because the new lift goes along the existing route. On the modernization of lifts “Shiligarnika – Todorka Peak” there is no doubt about compliance with legal regulations and adherence to environmental standards.
