Bansko will celebrate the town’s official holiday on October 05. The municipality has organized a lot of events that will take place during the whole week. Naturally, music and songs will be predominant, but the local people will also have the chance to watch an interesting film about Bansko and honor their ancestors. The events will start on September 30 at 6:30 pm with a concert called “The song of youth” at the Community center in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the “Bansko Youth” folklore group. The viewing of the “Bansko – following the footsteps of history” film will take place on the next day from 11 am to 2 pm at the Visitor’s center in town. The evening on October 03 will be dedicated to the heroes of Bansko – the “Destined to immortality” recital will begin at 5:30 pm at the House of Arts.
Only a day before the culmination of the celebrations the “Saint Peter” city stadium will host the Children’s sports event, where various sports clubs will demonstrate their skills. On the very date of the celebration, October 03, a festive mass will be officiated at the 181-year-old church “Holy Trinity” at 9 am. Half an hour later is the start of the Open-doors day at the Bansko museum complex, which will continue until 5 pm. At 10 am flowers and wreaths will be laid at the monuments and commemoration plates in the municipality. The fishing tournament for children will begin at 11 am at the “Belizmata” dam.
