Sarah Lewis, general secretary of the International Ski Federation and general secretary of the International Winter Sports Association, visited shortly the country in order to discuss with the minister of Sports Krassen Kralev the preparation of Bansko for hosting the three starts of the World Snowboard cup for men and women in February, and the possibility that our country apply for hosting the World Ski Championship.
“The Bulgarian federation is developing well and has implemented some great projects. You have organized a series of prestigious competitions; you already have a winner of the World Snowboard Cup – Radoslav Yankov. The publicity that your country received for hosting World and European Cups is huge, and I believe that you are ready to host an Alpine World Ski Championship”, said Sarah Lewis. She also discussed with the minister the 9th edition of the “Learn to ski” program, where more than 20 000 children have participated over the years. Lewis explained that the International World Federation has been expired by the Bulgarian program when they organized “World snow day” and the “Bring the children to the snow” program.
