25 782 000 leva is the 2019 budget of Bansko municipality, adopted at today’s meeting of the 15 members’ municipal council with a majority of 12 votes “for”. The priorities are infrastructure, education, social activity, and culture. The increase of the funds for “education” is by 20 %, the increase for social activities and services is by 16 %. Almost half of the funds planned in the budget – 11,611,100 leva or 45 % – will be provided by own revenue. The large share of own funds in the budgetary framework speaks of well-done administrative work. More effective tax collection means more funds can be allocated to the development of the municipality. We strive to find the balance by trying to keep low tax levels, while maintaining a sustainable level of budget revenue. Bansko’s investment program for 2019 amounts to nearly 7 000 000 leva. With the funds, we will continue to update Pirin St, and a side road will be built for the existing Nayden Gerov St in order to reduce city traffic.

A number of streets will be renovated in Bansko and the walls of the river will be repaired; the city park will also have a new and more attractive vision. By the end of the year there will also be a new kindergarten.
We will continue to plan funds to conduct more than 9 Summer Music Festivals.
I thank the municipal council for accepting the most important financial framework on which the local administration will work. I wish them, as well as to myself, a fruitful year in making the planned become reality.
