6th place for Bansko Ski Team at Korbel Charity Cup in Vail

Bansko was in the spotlight during the exclusive charity competition “Korbel Charity Cup” program of World Cup skiing in Colorado (USA). “Korbel Charity Cup” took place at the Golden Peak Staduim. Sixteen participating teams featured organizations such as FIS, Longines, Audi, EverBank future World Championships Organisers St Moritz 2017 & Are 2019, Bansko Ski Team, USSA and others.

Each team was comprised of four donors and one Legend of Skiing, including Franz Klammer, Kjetil Andre Aamodt, Pernilla Wiberg, Marco Büchel, Marc Giardelli, Didier Cuche, Lasse Kjus and Phil Mahre.

The last as an honorary citizen and spokesmodel of Bansko was captain of the team of Bansko, in which team was also the president of the BFSki – Tseko Minev, his deputy George Bobev, the director of Alpine’s – Ivan Kanevchev and Italian ex skier and current professor of business economics at the University “Bocconi” in Milan Maurizio Dallocchio who has a great influence on the FIS. All five have had powerful support of a large crowd with national flags of Bulgaria.
Upon presentation, the presenter demonstrated great knowledge and explain where is Bulgaria, pointing out that Bansko is a traditional host of the World Cup races and has excellent conditions for skiing.

One the 1/8-finals, Bansko Ski Team eliminated “Petroleum Corporation” – Tamara McKinney, which has one gold and three bronze from World Cup on the same track in 1989, but lost the battle to enter the 1/2-finals vs “Faber” led by another celebrity of American Ski – Karin Dedler. Her team was composed and profiling greatness Chris Anthony, came to the final and support Bansko for the 6th place overall. The winner became American Ski Association.
The teams gathered 200,000 dollars donated to the foundation “Right to play” for the treatment of children with disabilities.
