During the summer Bansko will become a cultural and musical center to attract visitors from the country and abroad. The ambition of the mayoralty and the local population is the city to be a year-round resort for the tourist industry and not to rely only on tourists in winter. For this purpose an attractive and varied program is prepared. The most intense will be during the holiday months of July and August. Last year, the Municipal Council voted unanimously resources for pursuing these two new festivals, which will be held for the first time this year. “Bohemians Bansko Fest” is a celebration of Balkan rhythms that will attract the scene names of popular and authentic Balkan music. It will consist from 26-th to 28-th of June at the resort.
Another music festival is called “Bansko Beat” and will be held at the Bansko stadium. Local people and music lovers from the region and the country will enjoy the talents of performers from different styles of modern music – pop, art rock, ethnic and R&B. In one of the festive evening will be a concert of world-class singer. The event will be from 10-th to 12-th of July. Providing two new music forums, organizers aim to increase the active days of the summer season and putting Bansko on the map of summer festival destinations on the Balkans. Summer theater evenings will be from 1-st to 7-th of July. Fifth Summer Cinemania Film fest under the stars will be from 16-th to 19-th of July.
Bansko expect many guests for the iconic music event in the resort – Jazz festival, which will be held from 8-th to 13-th of August. “For a whole week music fans will enjoy some of the biggest stars and performers from around the world” said from the town hall. The festival “Bansko Opera Fest” will be held in late August. The resort will be host of attractive sports events, which will also attract tourists from home and abroad.
